Many thanks for your helpful suggestion:-) In fact the icon was NOT available! However, after selecting it from the list of available add-ons, I was able to disable it and then re-enable it, and as if by magic the icon reappeared top right next to the menu button! Lol Job done:-).

Are you trying to watch a video or read an article on a site that doesn't allow ad blockers? Do you want to support a site you love by allowing it to show you ads? This is known as 'allowlisting' the site. There are several ways to allowlist a site and stop AdBlock from blocking ads.

Note: The methods described below work in your desktop browser. Here's how to pause AdBlock on your mobile device. Here's how to allow ads on websites on your iPhone or iPad.

To always allow ads to show on the site you're currently visiting, open the AdBlock menu, select Don't run on pages on this site (Chrome) or Don't run on pages on this domain (all other browsers) and click Exclude.

AdBlock will not block ads on any page in any tab on the current site, but will still block them on other sites.

To start blocking ads on that site again:

  • Click the AdBlock button and select Enable AdBlock on this page.

If you don't see that on the AdBlock menu, try removing the exception rule manually:

  1. Open the AdBlock menu (the AdBlock icon in the upper right-hand corner of your browser) and select the gear icon
  2. On the Customize tab next to 'Manually edit your filters,' click Edit
  3. Delete any line containing the name of the website
  4. Click Save
  5. Go back to the page you were viewing and reload it

To always allow ads to show on the page you're currently viewing, open the AdBlock menu and select Don't run on this page. This creates an allowlist rule in AdBlock.

Tip: Allowlist rules are also known as exception rules—or sometimes exclusion rules—because they tell ad blockers to make an exception for or exclude whatever the rule refers to.

AdBlock will not block ads on the current page but will still block them everywhere else, including on other pages on the same site.

You can find instructions for how to allow ads on specific YouTube channels here.

If you prefer to allow ads on most sites, only blocking them on specific sites, you can set AdBlock to default to 'off.' We call this running AdBlock in 'Allow Ads Mode,' showing ads on all websites, and blocking them only where you tell it to.

Allow Ads Mode is similar to simply pausing AdBlock on all sites. Unlike pausing, in Allow Ads Mode you can still block ads on some websites, and AdBlock will remain in Allow Ads Mode until you turn it off.

To use AdBlock in Allow Ads Mode:

  1. Open the AdBlock menu (the AdBlock icon in the upper right-hand corner of your browser)
  2. Select the gear icon to open your Options page
  3. Click the Customize tab on the left
  4. Scroll down to 'Stop blocking ads' and select 'Show ads everywhere except for these domains'
  5. Add any sites where you prefer to keep ads blocked. This overides all other filters.

Exception (allowlist) rules always override blocking rules. If there is a particular ad you want to see, you can use AdBlock's resource page to create an exception to the rule that's blocking it.

Adblock Options Not Showing Yahoo

Have been noticing problems with Adblock Plus taking a while to start working when I start up Firefox lately. But a few moments ago when just sitting idle on Wikipedia, I got a popup from Firefox saying the addon isn't recognized anymore and has been removed. Looking into the settings for further info, it said stuff about it no longer being verified in Firefox and took me to some page that described the issue but it didn't explain much, just something about 'improving' or updating itself to be safer; removing my ad blocker sure doesn't make it safer. It had a link to take me to other addons to replace the missing one but there apparently are none. Just a bunch of Firefox addons I'm not interested in. Adblock Plus is literally the only addon I use.

(For the record, I got the same error message for the Trend Micro toolbar, that it was no longer 'verified' so had been removed, though I didn't have it enabled.)

I went to the Adblock Plus site and tried downloading/installing it again and this time, Firefox refused, saying the file appeared 'corrupt' so it would not install it. (That's a lie. I installed it just fine the other day.)

Adblock Not Working On Safari

I'm now posting this from (a competing browser) because I refuse to surf the Web without a reputable ad blocker installed--a previous computer was ruined (WITH up-to-date antivirus software running) because of a hijacked ad. Is Firefox now banning Adblock Plus? What am I supposed to use in the meantime?

I much prefer Firefox over (competing browser) but I can't use it like this. It is literally not safe. :(

Adblock Not Working On Firefox

Just realized, too, that I can only browse a certain site on my tablet with Firefox for mobile and its Adblock Plus addon, which (mobile version of competing browser for Android) doesn't have. Is that going to stop working, too? So now I can't visit my most-used website while on a tablet?
